DEVELOPING DIAMOND DRESSE TOOLS HAVING GRITS IN PATTERNED ARRAY

AMITAVA GHOSH, PRITHVIRAJ MUKHOPADHYAY and D.RAGHAVA SIMHAN have published for grant of patent for an invention called An improved method for developing brazed dresser tools using vacuum-operated gripping/releasing of diamond grits.

The invention is a brazed type diamond dresser tool with precisely controlled positioning of grits, customized pattern and uniform grit protrusion (by uniform bond-encapsulation height from substrate) above bond level. The process of brazing involves joining of diamond grits to dresser material surface by applying a suitable filler alloy in 
between them.
